Today, Peloton announced the release of their new strength training app, Peloton Strength+.
Over the last few months, we've received some curious feedback from users testing Peloton Strength+ in Beta. Namely, that it looks, feels, and functions an awful lot like Ladder. Or as Reddit user Designer_Bee_4112 noted,
They literally ripped off ladder lol.
But if you came here expecting us to complain about how they literally copied our UI/UX screen-for-screen we're afraid you'll be disappointed.
We are, however, quite flattered that the Peloton team was really, really (really) inspired by all we're doing for our Ladder members. In fact, we found at least 15 Peloton product, engineering, and design folks in the Ladder app, and a whole lot of activity over the past year—more than 1,500 Ladder app sessions since January!
Here's a peek into the Daily Ladder app opens by this group of “trailblazers”!

We're flattered, really.
In fact, we applaud Peloton for stepping into the strength training arena! It's a savvy move for a company still finding its footing post-pandemic. All is fair in love and fitness and we welcome the competition.
But… we'd be remiss if we didn't have a little fun along the way. 😏
So in the spirit of fun around their announcement and what we're sure will be dismissed as a pure coincidence, we're releasing a campaign today called Ladder Versus, which draws inspiration from the legendary “Get a Mac” campaign of the early 2000s (a classic, and one of our favorites).
We created the Ladder app in 2020, because we thought most (all?) fitness apps, well, suck. They're merely content libraries of dated, on-demand videos that don't translate to real-world strength and long-term consistency. Ask any serious strength trainer or gym-goer, and you'll learn that legacy fitness apps just don't cut it.
These realizations led us to build Ladder through thousands of hours of collaboration between members, our expert strength coaches, and our product team. We're proud to have invented an experience that feels just like personal training and delivers results, but without the awkward small talk, scheduling issues, or exorbitant pricing.
We've come a long way over the past 4 years, but we're just getting started.
Welcome to the arena, Peloton.
